Currently, these AI models do not truly "understand" what you say when you "talk" to them. Instead, they identify the words you used and carry out numerous intricate calculations based on the likelihood that two words will come one after the other. It then generates a response based on the outcomes of those calculations.


This basically means that neither what you say to them nor how they reply to you can be understood by these LLMs. The only factors involved are arithmetic and probability. The breadth of their applications is similarly constrained, despite the fact that they are still capable of achieving fantastic results.


This explains why these "narrow" AI models struggle when it comes to irrational scenarios or subjective issues. For instance, ChatGPT's response to the question "What is the greatest movie ever made?" would probably sound something like this:


“Determining the “best” movie ever made is subjective and often varies from person to person based on individual preferences, tastes, and cultural backgrounds.”


While they excel in many areas, their applications are limited, particularly in subjective matters or exceptional situations. Fields like healthcare or education require a more personalized and nuanced approach tailored to individual characteristics, an aspect that AI struggles to deliver.


We can solve minor issues more quickly and with fewer resources by using artificial intelligence models. However, we must take it a step further if we are to actually change the way we live. This is where generic artificial intelligence comes into play.

Even after training, this system may be able to identify these vehicles in various images or videos, but it still has no actual understanding of what "cars," "aircraft," or "vessels" are.


Imagine it then encounters a picture of an amphibious car as those aren't the kinds of vehicles it was trained to drive. As a result, the system can incorrectly classify it or fail to recognise it at all.


AGI operates at a higher level. An AGI system can be trained on the concepts of these distinct types of cars beyond what they appear like, as opposed to being taught to recognise specific features. 


This capability empowers complex reasoning, simultaneous consideration of multiple factors, and genuine creativity.
